Desoldering

I was reading an article on how to build a mousebot, and it said something about a desoldering tool. I know what it means, but what exactly would the tool be and how would I desolder something?

A solder sucker!!!
http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=DGUS,DGUS:2006-11,DGUS:en&q=solder%20sucker&sa=N&tab=wi
Basically you heat up the solder with a solder iron, then push a button on this thing and it sucks up all the solder.
You can also use a solder wick
http://images.google.com/images?svnum=30&hs=XKS&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&rls=DGUS%2CDGUS%3A2006-11%2CDGUS%3Aen&q=solder+wick
But they suck (in a bad way).

What was in the mousebot article, and could you tell me where you found it?
