I guess I can't complain here in Belgium...
I live in Brugge (Bruges), a city with about 120k inhabitants (yes I googled it specially for this topic ;) and there's a specialised hobby electronics store and an RC hobby store.
I study in another city with about 70k inhabitants and there are two hobby electronics shops there...(they probably live off of us EE students :p )

Plus the fact that there are no problems to get ordered stuff from the internet here...

All you guys are lucky. I live in the middle of nowhere and the only store that sells electronics (other than way-overpriced flashdrives, digital cameras, etc.), is Radioshack, and it only sells consumer electronics, its so small (about...hmm...fifteen square feet [that's about a total of three square meters, for you IS people...hmph!--jk]).

But I have a question. How long does it take for a Jameco catalog to get to you California peeps? I requested one two weeks ago and it still hasn't come, even re-requested it.

I don't know how long it takes, but you can download a pdf copy from their website.  Plus if you order anything from Jameco, there is an option at checkout to ship a catalog along with the order.

Yeah, I downloaded the PDF already so I've been living off that. I'm just cautious because I want to make sure the stuff I buy from them will get to me...

I have to give a shout out to MaximumRobotics... those guys are awesome. They shipped the very next day, packing was top notch, shipping reasonable and have a variety of components.
