NEX Robotics Programmer Board and L293D interfacing problem
« on: March 09, 2010, 07:10:50 AM »

I attended a workshop organised by NEX Robotics http://www.nex-robotics.com/ and they gave us their basic programmer board of this type
http://www.nex-robotics.com/products/mi ... board.html

The problem is that when I connect a L293DNE to it and try to program it, the signal level is too low to drive the L293D. It works above 4.5 volts, but the voltage available after the regulator transistor LM7805C is about 2 Volts.

So should I put a general purpose transistor for amplification in between these two or is there some other problem.

IC is working properly otherwise, and the program is switching on ports as desired.(Checked through LEDs).

It is a part of my minor project and is urgent.

Sorry for the incomplete link it is
Code: [Select]
http://www.nex-robotics.com/products/microcontrollers-and-development-boards/atmega16-rp-smart-board.html
and I got the problem solved.

Earlier I was using a power adapter of 5 volts. Then I tried using 9 volts and it finally worked. Later on I found out that the 7805 needs at least 7.5 volt input for a 5 volt regulation.
