Title: Getting a robot to move on the lawn and mulch
Post by: robotr73 on January 04, 2014, 02:17:36 PM
Combining an RC chassis and a robot arm - finally I have something that can work well on rough terrain.

Yeah, it's still a little jerky.  At the moment, I have two controllers (one for the chassis, one for the arm).  Hopefully a little microcontroller fun over the next few months can help solve this.

What will this thing be used for?  At this point, maybe pulling weeds and possibly even tomatoes and raspberries (I like to mash up the raspberries for cocktails anyways).  But, there will be a lot of optimization.  It was kind of satisfying to get this thing to work, if maybe a little expensive.

robotr73, once you know the fastest you want your platform to move(Max speed for your environment), should be
simple to calculate the wheel size or gear reduction needed, should smooth things out.
