New to robotics, need some help.
« on: October 06, 2009, 10:55:27 PM »
Hello guys,
I'm very new to robotics and need some help with a project I have on mind.
I basically want to make an RC robot, like the 50$ robot. I want it to be differential drive(like the 50$ robot) but controlled from my transmitter, not autonomous. I don't exactly know what kind of parts I will need.

My basic plan is to put 4 wheels on a square piece of board, each wheel having a gear motor driving it.

What kind of parts(electronics mainly) should I be getting?

I already have a Transmitter and Receiver. But I would need some motor controller, right? Because I can't connect gear motors directly to the RC receiver... Would that be a special motor controller than the H-Bridge?(This is mainly where I'm lost)
I googled "rc motor controller" but it didn't help much.

Thanks guys.
