Anyone have hands on experience with the cupcake cnc machine? I really want something like this for minor manufacturing. I'm not really looking for strength but looks are important. Everything in the pictures seem to have a lot of detail but also seam to be kind of rough and was wondering if anyone had some experience with it.

My school has one, it hasn't been run yet though. The use of wood can be annoying because wood warps. It just happened to be that the wood work plate, the thing all the parts are printed on, was warped considerably  :P

Also the x, y, and z axis movements use a "creative" solution. The steppers turn rubber belts, and the trays for each axis are just clamped onto the rubber belts. Like two pieces of wood are squished together on the belt. Wasn't very impressed by that but I guess it works.

Its pretty small and not that accurate. And I dont think the stepper motors used for X , Y Z have encoders so you lose some precision. Otherwise its pretty good and you can make 3D stuff in your home.
Oh also, its reallllyyyyyyy slow, as most 3D printers are.
Check out the Roboduino, Arduino-compatible board!
