PCB-mount RJ45 Jacks
« on: August 12, 2008, 02:26:46 PM »
Does anyone know of a PCB-mount RJ45 jack that will mount on a standard 0.1" spacing through-hole PCB?

I checked about 10 of them on Newark.  None of them would fit a standard 0.1" PCB.  Unfortunately, neither will the one you linked for me.  It has 0.1" spacing between the pins alright, but the 2 rows are staggered.  One row would fit in the holes, but the second row wouldn't, or vice versa.  Thanks for trying, though.

there were 800 some hits on digi-key
so check it out.

If you can't find one that has them all in a row well then i guess it's time to get out the blue wire and mod one of the that kind of fits.

*** on a side note

any chance ArcMan is related to Iron Man? his Electrical counterpart?

I know there's 800 hits.  That's why I asked here  :P

We could be related.  I am an electrical engineer, but ArcMan actually refers to my new passion - MIG welding.  Fortunately, I don't see too many arcs on the electrical side of my hobby  :)

You may want to bend the pins a little to fit a regular 2x4 header footprint. That's what I did with a RJ12 (6 pins).
Check out the uBotino robot controller!

When I have stuff that doesn't fit a PCB, I drill holes into my PCB ;D
