You can find a step by step build up at
http://www.robocommunity.com/article/13007/Wall-E-Robot--Homebuilt-Project-Step-By-Step-Digest/ (http://www.robocommunity.com/article/13007/Wall-E-Robot--Homebuilt-Project-Step-By-Step-Digest/).
I may attempt this once I finish my K-9 project.

I'm looking for johnny 5 not wall-e :P

For Johnny 5, try this assembly guide from lynxmotion:
http://www.lynxmotion.com/ViewPage.aspx?ContentCode=assem07&CategoryID=19 (http://www.lynxmotion.com/ViewPage.aspx?ContentCode=assem07&CategoryID=19)
It is actually pretty detailed in how everything is assembled. I hope this helps.

the biggest problem I see is the tracks
you would have to custom make tracks that were big enough ( the lynxmotion tracks are tiny)

I know someone in the Tool&Die trade that is building me the frame and body including the tracks
