"C" brackets ?

Hi,

Anyone know where I can find "c" brackets that are a bit bigger than standard. Ideal dimensions would be about 8 inches wide and roughly 5 inches deep. I've checked a bunch of places, including all sorts of servo mounts / bracket suppliers, but no luck.

I'm trying to make (or buy) an inexpensive tilt. Exactly like a standard pan and tilt- but without the pan. Also, this will not be operated by a motor / servo. It will need to manually tilted, and then locked in place.

I'm hoping to accomplish by taking two "c" brackets -one slightly wider than the other, then lining up the axle holes and putting a screw through. This will create a joint. Then I'll simple put a bolts on the end and tighten (think this will work?). L-Brackets could also be made to work, but I'd prefer two ready made "c" brackets or an existing inexpensive tilt.

Sounds like a bracket used for mounting Walkie-Talkies in cars may suit you.
Wouldn't be hard to make one yourself either.

Most important parameter is how much weight it's supposed to carry.

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
