Unfortunately I'm still in Bangkok or I'd soooo go to this!
Robot Fest 2010
is coming
Saturday, April 24, 2010
But next Saturday come in from the snow!
Robot Fest invites you to...
1st Annual Techno-Swap-Fest
Saturday, February 13, 2010
National Electronics Museum
1745 West Nursery Road
Linthicum, MD 21090
It's going to be a good old fashioned flea market/swap meet, attracting people from a wide range of hobbies. There are already over 30 tables reserved by sellers, so there should be lots of good stuff (aka junk) for buyers to look at and purchase.
Here are just some of the hobbies expected to be represented:
● R/C (boats, planes, tanks, cars, trains, geese, monsters)
● Robotics (competition, combat, R2D2, micro-bots, junk-bots)
● Electronics (hackers, makers, crackers, phreaks, HAMs)
● Mechanical (steam engines, CNC, animatronics, whimsical)
The event is open to anybody who builds anything and all types of items (non-lethal please) are welcome. The goal is to bring together hobbyists of all kinds and try to replace the old clutter in our workshops with newer clutter!
For more information:
http://groups.google.com/group/techno-swap-fest (http://groups.google.com/group/techno-swap-fest)
We still have tables that can be reserved. Please email: [email protected]
A limited number of tables may be available at the door on a first-come-first served basis.

Oh no! That is within striking distance for me AND it happens to fall on my girlfriends birthday! Gah! :'(
Can anyone give me some suggestions for other cool things to do in Maryland? So I could be like: "Sure hon, we're going to go to Maryland and see that cool <insert-cool-thing-here>. Oh, while we're waiting for it to open, I heard a rumor there was some sort of swap-fest going on. Why don't we check that out too?" ;)
-

@Hertz32: I suppose you're right. She'll probably understand. I'll talk to her tonight. Worth a shot, anyway :)
Has anyone ever been to something like this? I'm wicked curious!

Actually, the Baltimore Harbor is a nice place to take her, and only a few miles away from the museum. I've taken girls there and they all like it ;D
The aquarium is really nice, too.

At the harbor, one of my friends almost gave $7 to a hobo. I think it was his first encounter with one and he didn't know how to respond :D

@Admin: Museum? Aquarium? Harbor? Perfect! All of these things are right up her alley (and mine too). ;D Thanks for the heads up!
I guess I will definitely be seeing some of you guys in Maryland then. ;)
