Lithium Ion, Polymer, or Iron?

I don't know which to choose. Ion seems to be the 'standard', but polymer is more powerful. And what's the deal with Iron Phosphate ones?

Do the regulators differ for each?

Iron Phosphate look to be the future of lithium, since they are not as explosive as the other types. A123 systems are currently the largest supplier, and you can get cells for fairly cheap. They are very strong in terms of surviving bad-charging and over discharging.

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?

Well you see, the problem is that I'm trying to go for a solar recharging type of thing, all built into the robot. (Yeah I know,  I know, I just want to)

So having an universal charger is really not an option (as far as the robot carrying it around) but I think I may get one anyways, because I can see it coming in handy quite often.
