What can the "automobile" models of the atmegas be used for?

For what I know... they can stand the noise of the car power plant plus
they may as well have some extra protection with interrupt handling....

You can't imagine what a relay or other noisy coil can do to your interrupts.... (Keep in mind that the Reset is considered an interrupt....)
For whom the interrupts toll...
