$50 Robot Problems
« on: March 29, 2009, 04:11:52 PM »
I intend on building the 50 dollar robot as my 1st robot. I have got most of the components; however I can’t seem to find a ATmega8 AVR. Unfortunately it is quite difficult and too expensive to ship components to my country. Is there any other possible microcontroller which I can use? Something in the lines of PIC16F ….. ??? And how would you go about programming this specific microcontroller?

The servo is also a problem to get, are there any other alternative servos (eg. Futaba, JR, Hitec, Align and Logictech). I have found a servo which is quite similar, could I use it? ( Futaba S3001 Standard Analogue Servo).

The futaba s3004 is almost the same as the HS-311, just a little different layout.
