Post by: ballbreaker on February 11, 2011, 01:19:10 PM
i have searched the web but couldn't find the answer i was looking for. my question is can you connect 2 inputs (e.g LDR) and 2 outputs (e.g LED) on a single 555 timer and if so how? thank you.

p.s connect them in a way that the one input output pair is independable from the other one

Not on a 555 as it contains only a single timer. But there is the 556, a dual timer.

A 556 is just two 555's in one package with common power and ground pins. Each timer circuit is connected the same as if they were two independent 555's of which there is tons of info on the web.

The 555 is is very versatile circuit that can be wired to do many different tasks. What do you need it to do?
