Title: Joystick wiring diagram
Post by: ang5t on September 27, 2008, 11:28:39 PM
Hello. Ok now, I had a previous post about joystick wiring I had posted in the mechanics section, realizing soon after it should have been here. But I have everything working smoothly now. Here is what I did for those interested in using a joystick for control.

I/O ---------(220 ohm resistor)--------------------------------------
                                                |                                       |
                                                |                                       |
                                     (0.01 uF capacitor)               (Joystick pot)
                                                |                                       |
                                                |                                       |
                                           (ground)                            (ground)

If you have made or have experience with the $50 robot photoresistor, or using a resistor as a control method, just use some code like that and you should be fine. I can post what  I am using now if anyone wants, but it is in Pbasic, and I'm pretty sure cannot be used with $50 robot. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.  ;)
