Title: $50 Microcontroller to PC (6pin ISP)

I made a PCB for the atmega8-based MCU, and i realized all of the ICSP programmers use 10pins, so will the following work:

I have  a better solution, this is a usb avr isp programmer that only requires minimum soldering and has both the 6 and 10 pin cables.

This will cost just about the same, and will be a simpler solution.  This programmer is avr studio compatible compared to the other programmer which I believe you would have to use with pony prog , which sounds like a hassle to use from reading the tutorial.
