how does it work? -questions

hy i have 2 questions

-how does the touch screen work (what kind of sensorts) for like an iphone

-does anybody know a good place to go for building embedded systems (like something to control your lights from a website)

I like the X10 system for home automation. There are much better systems out there, but the X10 is simple, cheap, and you can get it at any Radio Shack when you need new/ more.
