building a biped or hexapod? survey
« on: November 14, 2007, 01:03:53 PM »
I'm trying to determine the hobbyist interest level in building over-actuated robots - meaning robots by my definition having over 12 servos.

Typically this means:
bipeds
hexapods
snake robots

Can everyone quickly fill out the vote?

Also, if you are seriously soon considering building one, or are currently working on one of these robots, can you post here that you are? For those who are, I might be able to hook you up with something in the coming months . . .

It will be a little while before I start making actual plans to build one (biped or hex)

I'm working on a Lynxmotion style biped (22 servos), with a AVRcam on the chest and a pan/tilt Sharp sensor (and a PIR) on the head. Home made brackets and servo controller. I hope I can make a tutorial of it. I thought a biped will be more interesting than a hexapod.

I plan to build a biped eventually (once I have the experience and materials necessary)

...For those who dont know, Francium is an alkaline metal that when it hits water it 'splodes muchly. It has the biggest reaction to water of all the elements.
