Title: low cost ladar
Post by: vidam on December 19, 2007, 03:11:31 PM
I would like to know if there are any low-cost ladar sensor for hobbyists? When I mean low-cost I'm talking < $500 and preferably in the $50-$200 range.

I have two close friends who have been doing a school project that would be greatly improved by any form of a LIDAR system. Sadly after all their searching they were not able to find a LIDAR system that wasn't priced in the thousands of dollars. It just doesn't seem like something that will be cheap anytime soon.

There is one vendor Multi Dimensional Imaging that actually say "low cost". I sent them an email. I hope to hear something in the next 1-2 weeks if not sooner. They have quite a few different funding sources based on the logos on their website. If I hear anything in the price range I expect shall let you know.
