Hello
« on: January 28, 2009, 08:51:08 AM »
Just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Bill and my 9 yr old son is Collin.  Just registered and bought the parts for the $50 robot.  I am excited about doing this project with my son.  I'm kind of using him as an excuse to build a robot.  Ever since I was about 12 I've wanted to build one.  For some reason or another it never happened.  Now I get to learn how to do so with my son.

He is VERY excited.  Our friend has the wifi rovio robot with the cam.  Ever since he controlled that over the net he's thrilled.  SANTA got him a huge erector set kit for xmas.  Maybe thouse parts could be used in mock-ups and such.

Thanks for providing this site for all of us who were always curious and interested, but had nowhere to turn.  Keep up the good work.  Looking forward to parts arriving.  Oh....I'm sure I'll have TONS of questions later on.  I am going to be a very WET BEHIND THE EAR NEWBIE!

Almost all parts came in today.  Just waiting on the photoresistors and the grid-style PC board from Radio Shack.  Looks like the boy and I can start the build this weekend!
