Mobile version of forum
« on: July 26, 2011, 03:08:19 PM »
Hi admin. I know there is already a mobile version of the forum which can be accessed by adding ;wap2 to the end of the url.
My question is this: is there anyway that you can automate this?

I have for example a php script on all my sites that gets executed every time a page is loaded. It's pretty small so it doesn't consume much space / time. It redirects visitors to a different version of the page if loaded from a mobile platform (iPhone, Android, Palm or any other).

I access the forum from my Droid a lot of times daily and it would be really nice to have this feature. I know the "regular" website has a printer friendly version too which is better for mobile devices also.

I can provide you with the script if you want or don't have the time to code it yourself.

Does anybody else agree? ;D
Knowledge does not weigh.

I guess if there is strong demand for a limited mobile version, I'd be willing to try out the script.

I'd use a mobile version and would appreciate the automation...

I have a straight talk phone and I have no problems accessing the forum though I usually have to post something like 4 times to get it to go through. Other then that I love the mobil forum, It gives me something to do when I'm "working" :D
