It depends on the size and weight of your robot. Just try and plan out where your parts go to get general dimensions. On that robot, I used .25" HDPE, and I think it was 1' x 1' dimensions. I used a bandsaw to cut it, but a common handheld hack saw can cut HDPE really fast too.

This tutorial can help you select a motor:

If you are ever unsure, get the motor that has more torque and lower rpm.

capacitors and wiring that is good for robot power electronics, for sure . . . screws too? i dunno what else open it up!  ;D

if you have plans about opening your monitor, WEAR SAFETY GLOVES AND GLASSES!!!
those bastards contain like 25 000V (yep, 25 thousand Volts).
and becarefull, i always unsolder the big capacitator and the flyback transistor, aswell as remove the monitor itself...
but it might be another better way, anyone know?

Admin:
yea just short the power wires while wearing gloves to discharge the cap . . .

i should have warned you  :-\, but i assumed you hadnt powered it for years . . .
