humanoid torso with 'fluidic muscles'
« on: February 13, 2007, 09:52:10 AM »
This robot torso is really impressive in that it mimics really well the humanoid degrees of freedom. Unfortunately the response time of the muscles are painfully slow so was more of a proof of concept if anything. They also dont mention the huge power supply that is probably hidden in the background . . .

But still, impressive!

"The Humanoid muscle robot, a joint project between EvoLogics GmbH and the Bionics and Evolution Technology department of the Technical University of Berlin, uses the Festo fluidic muscles in a completely different manner. The project has evolved from a functional study of a simple robot arm in 2000 to a fully developed torso and two anthropomorphic arms and five-fingered hands."
