« on: January 17, 2008, 11:46:20 AM »
I want something like this , except with electrical pump. Does anyone sell anything like this.

Any electric pump gun that has automatic firing , AND only shoots soft stuff , like foam or ping pong balls

this should work. IDK up to what pressure it can survive

I know it is somewhat late but I had made a ping pong ball launcher for my robot a while back. It might be what you're looking for or it could spark some ideas.

It works like those baseball pitching machines(just two disks spinning really fast). It may also seem like ping pong balls wouldn't hurt but they hit hard at point blank.

yeah it does vibrate quite a bit at higher speeds, but you can minimize the vibrations by going at a slower speed(the balls still shot out at about the same speed). The vibrations can probably also be minimized by using a rubber grommet on the mounting holes. Like this one http://minorrubber.thomasnet.com/viewitems/rubber-grommets-vibration-mount-grommets/vibration-mount-grommets?&forward=1

ohhhhh that one looks nice too. If you get it let me know how it goes. I kinda want something with less power than what I have. I only want the balls to be shot a short distance. It looks like it has rubber grommets on the actual motors to reduce vibration too....

FIRST has a competetion like this( I think two years back) they shot balls into a goal via a remote controlled bot, generally there designs were high speed wheels( one took two dewalt drills and ripped off the handle, attached wheels on the end and spun them at full speed) that dug into the ball and shot it through a barrel
