I'd like to add a 4 and 5:
4) Search wikipedia
5) Search google

Too many people ask questions that are answered by the first hit on a simple wiki/google search.

Wikipedia is unsafe. it give a lot of false information. Belive my i got at least 4 F in my school for using wikipedia all the information was false. :'( >:(

P.S. At least use howstuffeorks.com or some other site. Im saying this for future problems.    ;D

Any good researcher would never trust just one source.

You need to always check multiple sources and cross reference them.

Wikipedia has been found to be very accurate, and I agree with that assessment ;D

Well there are many points of view but I'm saying that you should also go to more secure places like howstuffworks.com or something like that. And also there is a good side to that if you did not do a homework and you invent it up you can say to the teacher that you look it up in wikipedia. I did that once and they gave me a B-.
Not an A+ but better than an F or C.

I like wikipedia for general information and to provide a baseline from which to begin looking at other sources.
