Brian and I are teaching a full-size course next semester based on ourStuco, Gadgetry 101. We aim to go into sufficient detail about how todesign circuit boards that people completing the course can beindependent gadget designers. Here's the pertinent info to forward toyour members and FWR students.Title: GadgetryDescription: This course explores the confluence of engineering anddesign in the context of gadgets: intelligent, interactive electronicdevices made from scratch with custom printed circuit boards. Studentswill learn about circuit board design, microcontroller programming, sensors and actuators, and how to make and evaluate design decisionsin the gadgetry space. Students will create several gadgets, withparticular attention paid to areas where traditional "dev kit" or"breadboard" prototyping falls short, such as portable, mobile, andminiature devices.Number: 16-250 or 51-364 (for design students)Units: 9Times: TR 3-4:20
