RF Transceiver
« on: September 27, 2010, 04:00:37 PM »
Hey. I'm new to robotics so sorry for any stupid things i say in advance :)
I am trying to build simple robot. However i did decide to make it a bit harder and attempt to make it remote controlled.
For this purpose i am going to buy this transceiver: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=267370
The problem starts when i try to acquire device for my PC that will be able to work as a transceiver. I am pretty sure there must be something already made that is able to easily receive and transmit RF signals. I think that each wireless adapter card s capable of that (haven't really done much in term of communication yet) but this would be far too hard to write drivers and configure everything for it. Does anybody have any suggestions about how i could do it and what should i get to be able to create remote controlled (via computer) robot?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

Did you consider Bluetooth?
Regards,
Søren

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
Please remember...
