antenna wiring
« on: March 08, 2007, 02:26:12 PM »
probably a dumb question, but just want to make sure . . .

so im wiring up an antenna similar to this one but for 433MHz. im not sure if it matters which pin ground and signal go to (my guess is no).

in this image, the gold thing at the far right is the connector. there is another pin in the center. which is ground? would one way result in less interference than the other? (again, my guess says it doesnt matter, but just want to make sure)

The connector is ground and the center pin is signal.  It probably will make a difference which way you connect the antenna.

For the direction of the antenna, practically it doesnt matter. However theoretically you want both transmitting and receiving antennas to be in the same direction to insure that the waves are polarized similiarly.
