Title: Cheapest way to get into surface mount?
Post by: ksquared on December 25, 2015, 11:45:10 AM
I can't help but notice that there is a wide plethora of good uses for Surface mount stuff; sadly, I don't really know how to cheaply acquire equipment for it.

What is the cheapest domestic way to enable oneself to solder surface mount components?  Thanks to kiCad, and a few chemicals, I can etch (or skip that and just order :P) my own boards....

Thanks in advance!

While I personally have not done any SMD soldering, I can recommend a good video tutorial that shows various tools and techniques for soldering surface mount devices. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9FC9fAlfQE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9FC9fAlfQE) Hope this helps,
