Title: CNC Plasma Cut
Post by: Qucifer on June 29, 2007, 09:09:06 PM
Hey everyone, I told you guys I would post pics of the next thing I cut, so here they are. These are triple trees for a mini bike. I cut them this evening. I took picture with a ruler on top so you could see how precise the machine is, but the lighting did not allow you to see the details on the ruler, so here is the best pic I got. No ruler, but this is as close as I can get with the camera before the flash drowns out the whole pic.

Just wanted to show you what those pieces in the first pic became.

Im sorry, but I dont quite understand what you are asking. If you are asking what is in the picture, its a classic style mini bike. It uses a lawnmower engine for power. Some people have converted them over to electric power, and run them off of a couple of car batteries.

Qucifer - I'm sory, but I don't quite understand what making a mini bike frame has anything to do with robots (unless of course, you are making a robotic mini bike).  Your CNC Plasma Cutter sounds awesome for fabbing custom parts... any chance you might show us a picture of what the CNC Plasma Cutter looks like?

Since I have no experience with robots, I need ideas for some frame parts to cut. Here is a picture of something I cut today, once again its not a robot, but you can see the capabilites. Im sure you could put it on a robot for looks.

a branding robot  :o
that could come in handy  ;D

is steel soft enough to make a hole in it, and then have a self threading screw go in?
if so then servo mounts might be a hot item

Self drilling screws work fine on steel.
