Hello
Im building a hexapod with 3 DOF. 18 servo motors are used. The servos type is DS9811 (Torque at 4.8V: 25.0kg.cm). Moreover, i am going to use an Xbee module for wireless communication (3.3V @ 50mA). I am not sure how many servos will be operated at the same time. The microcontroller to be used is an Axon II. The datasheet of the microcontroller says that a 6V 1000mAh+ NiMH battery works great. But does this mean that the Axon will be able to operate as many components as i need (in this case 18 servos+Xbee).
I found a battery on the website below, is it a good one ? :
http://www.trossenrobotics.com/store/p/5916-NiMH-Rechargable-Battery-6v-2300mAh.aspx (http://www.trossenrobotics.com/store/p/5916-NiMH-Rechargable-Battery-6v-2300mAh.aspx)
But the battery have 2300mAh. Is it ok to use ?
Do I need to buy a charger.

I think the one you mentioned would work.
I use several of these: http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.aspx?productID=426&CategoryID=48 (http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.aspx?productID=426&CategoryID=48) I use these on my 18 servo hexapods just fine.
Yes you will need a charger: For these batteries I use: http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.aspx?productID=547&CategoryID=48 (http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.aspx?productID=547&CategoryID=48)
Note, some other users have wanted longer cycle times and have instead gone with some LIPO batteries. I have avoided that as the run time is long enough for me. (I spend much more time playing around with the code) and I use a different battery for the logic... I have seen enough videos of LIPO batteries that burn or explode and so I have avoided them, but others do use them with great success.

Thanks a lot
Will this charger be fine with the battery i mentioned:

I need to find all required components in trossenrobotics :)

It looks like it should work!
