Title: colour recognition

I read the new colour recognition tutorial, and I'm curious,
How would I go about recognizing more than just 2 or 3 colours?

I'm starting a project that requires the recognition or 6 different colours. (solving a Rubik's cube) How would I go about doing this?
I've heard of people using CCD cameras for this... How?
