We are the new exclusive worldwide distributors of the Kronos line of microcontrollers. These high quality chips had a relatively high price. That has changed dramatically. Please, visit our website www.advancedmicrocircuits.com (http://www.advancedmicrocircuits.com) and check our prices. You will be pleasantly surprised. For example, the flagship of the line, the DiosPro28, has gone from $32.00 down to $10.50! We are also in the process of stocking good boards around the Kronos chips.
With best regards

Cool products, site kind of sucks navigation wise. I was interested in the new 08m usb board but it took me 5 minutes to find it on the store :-[

Hehe, Athena, Perseus and Nemesis were my first microcontrollers! Why? because the basic language was available for free compared to the Pbasic that I had to buy to be able to program the PICs and also they have a bootloader so there was no need for an expensive hardware programmer. True, the price per chip was rather expensive at $13 for the Nemesis, but I was saving about $200. For a project or two it seemed a more reasonable choice. Dios and DiosPro are more powerful and suitable for advanced applications. They are good micros for beginners that don't want to shed the big bucks for a BasicStamp, however, I think they are a bit obsolete. Out of everything on the market, I would say Arduino is the best choice for beginners or even advanced users.
