Title: How to connect 2 batteries to Axon II ?
Post by: bilals on March 13, 2010, 01:42:48 AM
I know that it is possible to connect two batteries to Axon II, but I don't know how.
I saw the video "Axon II MCU Power Selection", where it appears that you have to desolder 2 pins on the board. What to do after that ? Is it that you directly connect the 2 batteries to the Axon, one to the pin labeled Bat & the other one to G3. Instead, can i connect both batteries directly to the ON/OFF switch, without the need to desolder the pins?

If you use two different battery types, they cannot share the same power bus.

By removing the trace, you are creating two separate power buses.

You can connect two batteries together in any way you want, on the condition that they are the same type and charge.

I see, I am glad that i have 2 identical batteries.  :D

Thanks for the information.

BTW, Hasan999 suggested that i combine the batteries by connecting the wires together (See link below).

Can i do the same in the case of Axon II, without the need to desolder the pins (combine batteries, connect it to Bat pin on Axon II). I think it would be easier as when you charge, you'll charge both batteries at the same time.

Yeap, you can connect them in parallel like that, no problem. It might cause problems in the future however, for a future robot you might make that can only fit one battery.
