hello
i want to modify a servo,i read the toturial but i didn't get this :
"You should probably see the gears rotating without stopping" ,i thought i was supposed to take off all the gears ???
-
That is after you take the gears out, modify them and put them back in, they should rotate continuously.
-
ok,i see
well,let's see if i have unterstood ;) :
i open up the servo,
i take off the largest gear to find the potentiometer
i bring back the others gears(if i've moved them)
i plug in the signal for 0° rotation
i should see them moving continuously
i rotate the pot head till they stop moving
i superglue the pot
i remove the plastic peace from the large gear
i put back the large gear
and this is it
have i missed something?
-
You don't have to put the gears back on, just turn the pot until you hear the motor stop moving. Also, the motor should have a teeny gear that doesn't come off, so you can look at that.

ok thanks a lot for your answers
i will probably ask you again,i can't allow my self not doing it well (i don't have enough money ) ;D

hi
i have problem
when i try to center the servo :
when i applied the pulse for 0° rortation, the gears start moving ,but when i rotate the potentiometer, they don't stop.
it is a HS-422 (hitec)
thanks

You need to be pretty accurate with the pot, try adjusting it with a pair of tweezers, you should see the gears slowing as you get near the right point.

it's done
thank you very much
