How do you know what to hook up where on an Atmega168? Such as where do you hook up the male headers and LEDs or resistors and stuff like that.

The ATMEGA168 has the same layout as the ATMEGA8 that is used in the $50 tutorial Webbot mentioned. It will answer your questions or at least allow you to ask much more specific questions.
