I know this is going to be a short post, but what differentiates the input of a P-MOSFET from an N-MOSFET?

This is analogous to the difference between NPN and PNP for BJT. N-channel enhancement mode MOSFET conducts when gate voltage is higher than source voltage; p-channel works the other way round.
