Unfortunately, forum ranking is independent of actual skill/experience/knowledgebility of robotics, and more based on how many posts you have.
Some experts in robotics on these forums have green or yellow robots beside their names, not sure how that works though.
Admin just doesn't have the time to read everyones posts, and assign a ranking accordingly.

If you have green bots, it means that you are an Expert Robotist,
basically your important, and useful.
Yellow bots means your a contest winner, you've won one of the SoR robot completions
Admin sets these himself.
The normal "bluebots" are automatic

Admin has stated before, it's not only about post count, it's the ratio of helpful points to post count that distinguish the 'true' robot experts.
