i rely love this robotic stuff, so i need cheap way to get started. i need a cheap rc robot plan. any plans that cost less than $50 will do. thx

Want to clarify a little on what a "cheap rc robot plan" is? If you're just looking to get a RC car, then get an RC car. If you want a microcontroller-based robot, then take a look at the $50.00 robot tutorial, although it does go above your price limits. The cheapest way to get started is to hack something you already have, so inventory your resources first.

im sort of in the same situation as you, looking for some cheap gear to start me off, on ebay they sell RC Tanks for arround £50, which i thought was good as you get tracks, motors, battery + charger and RC gear.

The $50 robot (http://societyofrobots.com/step_by_step_robot.shtml) is a good place to start as it covers all the basics when designing a robot. You can also modify an existing RC car to make a RC version of your $50 robot.

The big question is 'build or buy'.
If you want to build all of the electronics then the price will depend on whether you have all the necessary tools like soldering iron, solder, multi-meter etc. These are a one-off cost but may break your budget before you even get started adding the cost of strip board, chips, resistors, capacitors, header pins etc.
Assuming you don't have the required tools then get a pre-built board. If you are looking at < $50 then something like an Arduino, Roboduino, or a Baby Orangutan B328.

This is like a mixture of the $50 robot design and Arduino but also comes with the ability to drive two small DC motors. If you have questions about it: then post them to the above link.
If you really want 'remote control' then look at eBay but IMHO the "fun" part of robotics is to make them autonomous.
