Title: robot arm bowling competition
Post by: Admin on June 10, 2007, 06:06:06 PM
This video was taken during a competition in my manipulation class years ago. The prof that taught the class, Matt Mason, is now the director of the CMU Robotics Institute.

This is a robot arm bowling competition using two DENSO 6DOF robot arms.

Each team programs an arm to do two tasks:
- Try to place all three of its pegs in the opponents' goal
- Block opponent pegs from going in your own goal

oh I forgot to mention, my robot is the one on the right at 2:20 (countdown timer)

unlike the other groups that tried the throwing method, we tried the sliding peg method which worked really well :D

Reminds me of "air hockey".
