how can i test an igbt (600v-7a) with a digital multimeter?

You have to know that i did a little research before shooting my question...but i asked because i wanted to check if the volts to activate the gate are not enough from the dmm in diode mode..and thats why i mention the v,a and i wanted to crosscheck the answer with what i found
