Title: Battery Charge Sensor

Hi,

I assume batteries exhibit changing characteristics as their charge falls. Can someone please tell me what these are or point me in the direction of resources on the subject (I've done a Google search, etc which has fallen short)? The reason I want to know this is for the implementation of a battery charge sensor in my device.
