I'm thinking of entering the comp on the website however i am a member of the uk based FRA fighting robot association, basically anyone whos seen battlebots or robotwars will understand am i still able to enter ?

Probably so, but you'll be going against people who have built just 1 or 2 robots, so it might not be fun for you.
good luck, and can you show what you've done so far.

nothing to show atm its all on paper, still working out weather to use hdpe or polycarb just looking, i also have all my parts

Yeap any type of robot will be ok. Extra bonus points if you do something I havent seen before, such as a battlebot that can double as a childs nanny . . . ;D
