Title: Sonar reliability
Post by: marcusbarnet on October 08, 2011, 06:54:40 AM
Hi to all,

I have a mobile robot which should be able to avoid collisions with walls, people and objects with an high degree of reliability in outdoor environment.

In the past, i used sonar to avoid walls, but can it work well also with people and little objects? In particular, it has to avoid chairs and beach umbrellas.

If sonar is not hte most suitable sensor to avoid these kind of objects, what can i use in order to acquire this task?

Thanks!  ;)

Hi,

Sonar should be fine for your purpose.
