Brazil has evidently decided to take a high-tech approach to security for next year’s soccer World Cup with news that the nation’s government has signed a $7.2 million deal with Massachusetts firm iRobot for 30 of its PackBot military robots.

Given the extreme number of random robot links you've posted over the last day, one could almost think that you're setting up the account to do some astroturfing in the future. Or maybe you're just trying to SEO the whatisarobot web site?

The data certainly suggest that. The clue is in the use of the forum as a write-only medium.

I know the article says that the robot is durable, but wouldn't it seem like waste of both money and capabilities to have the robot trapped beneath hundreds of thousands of riled up fans? It's normally pretty obvious where a fight is happening, I believe that human security guards are both cheaper and more effective. What do you guys think?  ;D
