Title: I look for a term for what I'm looking for

Hi all,

This is kind of a NOOB question.
I'm looking for a 3 axes serial rotary actuator (a complete system) to put at the end of my robot.
Something similar to the last 3 axes in the Puma robot.
Is there a known term or phrase for such a thing?

Ron,

You are basically looking for an arm with three degrees of freedom. all of which are rotational, I take it?  I would be inclined to go the servo route with cascaded pan and or tilt mechanisms.  That's probably one of the best COTS (completely off the shelf) solutions out there.
