Title: Modifying Servos
Post by: theleb on August 24, 2007, 03:56:05 PM
I'm a newb and I'm having trouble modifying an HS-311 servo.  In the $50 Robot Tutorial, it says that I should center the servo by plugging it into my microcontroller.  However, this part comes in the tutorial long before the circuit board has been built, so how on earth am I supposed to hook my servo up to my microcontroller?  I have already read this page, http://www.societyofrobots.com/actuators_modifyservo.shtml, and it only confused me more...especially step 5.

Well technically you should build the board first :P

Dont worry about your servos yet. Only work on the board until its all built and working (By working I mean you can hook up its battery(s) successfully and successfully program it)

Then, once youve done that successfully:

Hope this helped!
