Title: How to make a sonar, my proyect

Hello everyone, thanks for checking this, my proyect is about making a 360 degree map using a sonar (is there a better sensor option?) The ultra sound devices wont cover as much as needed, So I want to create one (I would make a set of them, in order to create a circular -if not almost espherical- sensor, can anyone help me ? I can't find solid information, I would be glad!
