Title: Any suggestions to our Intelligent glasses
Post by: robertcomes on September 15, 2007, 11:38:26 PM
We are developing a novel concept of real-time wearable translating glasses, named intelligent glasses, which can realize real-time multilingual translation. It is useful to a tourist who does not know the local language.
For detail: Intelligent Glasses (http://arl.mae.cuhk.edu.hk/node/319)
I have some questions:
1. How to choose hardware? Now we use PC104 to find which is text in images and a computer to
translate. We want find a hardware like DSP or Arm to realize all the functions.

2. How to make it cool.

3. Do you think it has commercial value?

Thanks.

Just some thoughts . . .

If some random japanese guy walks up to me on my way to work speaking japanese to me, wearing this VR helmet looking thing, Id be a little wierded out.

So I speak english and the glasses translates and the japan guy understands . . . but he speaks back in japanese . . . and i dont understand anything . . . why? because I dont have the glasses myself . . .

problem, no? :P
