Title: wire labeling ideas?

Im wondering if anyone has any good ideas for labeling wires and header pins.

My method is to use a permanent marker and tape to label wires, and just write on the PCB for header pins . . . but after a year I notice these fade away off my still used old circuit boards. I keep rewriting the labels . . .

I was thinking about getting a label maker, but I dont think the font is small enough for header pins . . .

anyone with ideas to share?

You can buy sheets of sticker-paper which can be printed on directly.    However this is a waste of an A4 sheet of paper if you are only printing 10 labels...
